I migliori auguri Parma, per i tuoi 200 anni. No, non sono pazzo. Questo post è dedicato ai parmigiani dello Stato americano di New York, che sono circa 15mila. La loro città infatti, la più antica Parma degli States, che prese il nome proprio dalla "nostra Parma", fu fondata l'8 aprile 1808 e quest'anno, il 31 luglio, cominceranno le celebrazioni del Bicentennial, che dureranno un anno. Non ci sono mai stato, ma mi sono documentato su Wikipedia e sui siti Town of Parma e Village of Hilton (compreso dentro i confini della città e centro pulsante della stessa, con scuole, parchi, shopping) e così ho capito che è un fior di piccola città, a ovest di Rochester e a due passi dal Lago Ontario. (Aggiungo alcune foto prese da questi siti, compresa quella del supervisor di Parma, Richard A. Lemcke). Ancora i migliori auguri.

Best wishes Parma, for your 200 years. No, I'm not crazy. This mailing is dedicated to the inhabitants of the american State of New York, about 15.000. Their town, in fact, the most ancient Parma of the States, which took the name from "our Parma", was founded in april the 8th of 1808 and this year, on july the 31th, it will begin the celebrations of the Bicentennial, which will have end on august 2009. I never went to Parma,Ny, but I've read news on Wikipedia and on the websites Town of Parma and Village of Hilton (within the borders of the town, with schools, parks, shopping) and so I knew that it's a beautiful little town at the westside of Rochester,approaching the Lake Ontario.
